Letting go of the cobwebs of doctrine and dogma - left over by the likes of Crowley, Mathers or The Key of Solomon - is what Chaos Magick was supposed to be about. Having said that Sherwin isn't afraid of referring to the likes of Crowley but he takes what he needs and builds from there. Magickal orders worldwide, from pagans, to Wiccans to the Golden Dawn, owe the tremendous rise in interest in magick in large part to Kraig's influence through this phenomenal volume. Unlike other texts, most characterized by Crowley's habit of talking around magickal theory, Kraig's text emphasizes the "DOING" in magick, and gets the reader/student performing rituals and making magick from the very first chapter. This is taking into account all the useful information he provides on each circuit, along with correspondences to the Tarot and James Joyce.

• Mastering Witchcraft (188 pages) This book is a practical how to guide for those who are interested in witchcraft as a practice. Do not confuse this with Crowley or related authors either. You will not find the popular "k" spelling for magic here either. Aliester Crowley created the "ick" spelling for magic, the author of this book Paul Hudson has no such delusions. This book is for those who are serious about witchcraft as a practical, hands on, practice.
