  • The Magus or Celestial Intelligencer Book I

Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 157 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits

The Magus has proved to be the most sought after set of bookson magic and alchemy ever published. There is very good reasonfor this. These books are powerful, and were considered sodangerous that for many years, rare copies could only be foundin certain libraries, locked away from the general public andfrom those who would use (or misuse) its power. The originalset of books was first published in 1801 by its author,Francis Barrett, who had an extensive background in themedieval and occult sciences. He spent many years of diligentstudy before releasing them. His premise for the material, that is, before putting anything into these books, Barrettfirst subjected the various theories to certain tests that hadto be "substantiated by nature, truth, and experiment" first. They were written for those seeking the key to thephilosopher's stone and the powers of magic. The illustrationsin this book were taken from ancient and medieval texts, magical tables, planetary tables, talismans and images ofangels and demons. Book One covers natural magic, amulets andcharms, potions, precious stones, lights, candles, alchemy, the philosopher's stone, transmutation, the four elements, numbers, and planets. Book Two covers magnetic powers,Cabalistic magic, the names of angels and spirits, theperforming of invocations, conjuring spirits, magic circles, receiving oracles in dreams, positive and evil spirits, andconcludes with a major biographical section on the greatmagicians of history.

  • [ recommended ] Yoga For Men Only

Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 214 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @500 credits

Yoga For Men Only by Frank R. Young, D.C. is without question the very best book on yoga ever written. That's a very strong statement but it's true. The reasons are actually quite simple - he has a narrow yet powerful focus.

The first thing that Dr. Young does is make seemingly outlandish claims of what the practice of yoga can do for a man - that it can give a man vigorous life at any age. He discusses yoga secrets for self-mastery, self-protection, greater personal energy, powerful muscles, sex power, leadership, and youth. He combines yoga lore with chiropractic and what seems to be his own thoroughly unique, utterly efficient and surprisingly effective singular idea of bodybuilding that he calls yogametrics. I have read this book at least one hundred times since I purchased a first edition in 1969 and have practiced this brand of yoga ever since almost exclusively. It sings!

Virtually everything I've tried from this book does indeed work. I've used it for over thirty years. I have even used his self-defense techniques to a great advantage - mainly because it was easy.

I have read books on Kundalini or Raj, and Hatha yoga by many authors. These books usually diagram an asana - a yoga movement or position - along with a short explanation. These books expound the positive aspects of widening the openings of the body and stretching the muscles as a whole. Rarely will they speak of anything but stretching. I'm sorry but stretching will not work a muscle.

To work a muscle a person must contract that muscle. Stretching is good for warming up and widening some of the openings in the body is a paramount issue, but not for serious muscle health. Once in a while these authors will get into meditation, mysticism, or a little bit of anatomy.

Yoga For Men Only is the only book I know that even gives a definition of yoga! These yoga asanas help the mind tell the body what to do. Yoga means union. The union of the mind and body is the core of yoga. This book tells how to overcome hypertension, high blood pressure, and even wrinkles. Two years ago I got arrested because a Redwood City policewoman refused to believe that I was as old as my driver license stated - with yoga I erased my wrinkles. That is a true story.

Other books merely touch on how yoga differs from isotonics, isometrics and calisthenics. This book wades into it. Dr. Young - that's his real name - has invented yogametrics. He uses yogametrics not only for muscle building but also for controlling the blood supply to the mysterious youth-giving (or with misuse, taking) endocrine gland system. Dr. Young treats the endocrine glands in a scientific yet ancient manner - from a health perspective.

This book gives the most dynamic method for deep breathing ever devised by man. This doesn't get into the Kundalini breathing techniques or the variation that Edgar Cayce taught which opens the sevens seals, but it is practical and should be a must for any serious body builder. I used it to increase the girth of my chest by over three inches without gaining a pound in just six months with only half an hour a day.

Yoga For Men Only is not just for men. I believe that the title is more for catching the prospective buyer's eye - it worked for me. This book spends no time on mysticism, or meditation. For those items read books on Edgar Cayce. They are the best. Cayce's books treat the endocrine glands not only from a health perspective but also from a mystical viewpoint. Dr. Young does not treat the endocrine glands as chakras like Cayce or the yoga mystics of old, but from a very practical viewpoint instead. The asanas that Dr. Young describes with respect to the endocrine glands have interesting details. They show the muscle combines which in turn stimulate the specific nerve ganglia that control the blood supply to a specific endocrine gland. It is awesome. I myself have invented a handful of asanas using his ideas. It is a shame that this book is out of print. It is magnificent.

  • [ recommended ] Jason Miller - The Sorcerer's Secrets: Strategies in Practical Magick

Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 215 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @300 credits

This book is about real magick, effecting real change, in a real world.

There are some books on magick that teach it purely as spiritual advancement. Others teach it as a form of psychological self-help that effects only inner change. While magick can and should be both of these, it is also something more. The Sorcerer's Secrets is about success in practical magick; it is a book that aims at changing both the outer and inner worlds.

Beyond a mere spell book or training course, The Sorcerer's Secrets is a field manual on successful sorcery written by a professional sorcerer. The first part of the book lays out the qualities, concepts, and exercises necessary to attempt practical magick. The second part presents clear strategies for tackling almost any type of issue with sorcery.

    You will learn how to:
*Attack problems from multiple angles, not just by casting a spell.
*Blend mundane and magickal action to ensure success.
*Figure out whether what you are doing is working, and fix it if it isn't.
*Go beyond readings, into magickal intelligence-gathering.
*Influence the minds of other people.
*Work most effectively on behalf of others.

The Sorcerer's Secrets will help rescue the art of Magick from those who have ignored, downplayed, or just outright denied the existence of practical sorcery in favor of arcane titles, intangible results, and fantasy attainments.

  • Lady Sabrina - The Witchs Master Grimoire: Encyclopedia of Charms, Spells, Formulas, and Magical Rites

Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 221 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

The Witch's Master Grimoire contains numerous spells and magical rites in an A-Z format that are simple and easy to follow. Many of them make use of the power of fire through the flame of a candle. Others rely on the subtle vibrations of herbs, plants, and minerals. Those that require special oils or incenses also provide the recipes for making them.

Lady Sabrina also gives tips on the best and most productive times to cast spells. She recommends working with the phases of the moon, which can be found in The Old Farmers Almanac, or any good astrological calendar. The new moon should be used to begin projects, attract money, or regenerate friendships and health. During the full moon you should work on personal success, career, or love and marriage. Lastly, the waning moon phase is the perfect time to get rid of negative influences and bad situations.

  • Michael Bertiaux - The Voudon Gnostic Workbook

Downloaded: 3 times | Size: 653 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @500 credits

A long-awaited new edition of the seminal text on the spiritual system that is a convergence of Gnosticism and Haitian voodoo, The Voudon Gnostic Workbook is a singular sacred work that is comprehensive in scope--from "how to be a lucky Hoodoo" to how magick and voodoo intersect energetically, to esoteric time travel. Complete with charts and graphs and instructive interdimensional physics, The Voudon Gnostic Workbook is an "object of desire" among students of the occult.

Weiser's long-anticipated republication of this rare text will be an event in the annals of esoteric publishing, as the book itself is somewhat of an "unholy grail." There are listservers devoted to it and much discussion of the mysteries held within its pages. While The Voudon Gnostic Workbook has remained a controversial book considered important for masters of metaphysics, it recently came into popular culture and renewed popularity when Grant Morrison revealed it had been the inspiration for his cult comics The Invisibles, using the cribbed time travel from Bertiaux' s masterwork. Voodoo is not an evil religion and is much misunderstood. It derives from the Dahomean Gods called the "Loa." Esoteric voodoo is actually a highly practical procedure for leading us into making contact with the deepest levels of our being and most ancient modes of consciousness. Michael Bertiaux's Voudon Gnostic Workbook is the most comprehensive and illuminating contemporary book on the subject. Launched out of a correspondence course and series of classes for students and followers of Voudon Gnosticism and the OTO, this seminal text is at once one of the most mysterious and magnificent of all esoteric books.

"This book is a must-have for any serious occult student's library." --Christopher Penczak, author of Gay Witchcraft and several best-selling Pagan books. "Voundoun, popularly referred to as "Voodoo," has held a great mystique for Westerners for centuries--inspiring tantalizing legends of "voodoo dolls," "zombies," and ecstatic possession during wild orgiastic rituals of drumming and dancing. Bizarre depictions of "Voodoo" have featured in many Hollywood movies since Voodoo Woman, a 1957 horror film now considered to be one of the 50 worst films ever made. The ghost of Marie LaVeau, the famous "Voodoo Queen of New Orleans," still haunts the graveyards and bayous of urban myth. But behind the myths and legends have always lurked the deeper Mysteries of an ancient tradition of magic and spirituality rooted in the blood-drenched soil of Western Africa, from which generations of tribal peoples were captured and transported into lives of slavery in the plantations of America and the Caribbean. The fear in which "Voodoo" has been held for centuries attests to its power. This long-awaited grimoire of authentic Voundoun will be a treasured gem in any occult library!" Voudon Gnostic Workbook (the missing drawings) (16 pages)
