  • Grimoirium Verum

Downloaded: 1 times | Size: 86 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

Grimoirium Verum is a work of Black Magick. Included in this volume is a gallery of illustrations from the classic editions of this rare work. The magical sigils have been digitally restored and are presented along with the originals as given in the manuscript. This edition of Grimoirium Verum is unique in its completeness, verifiable authenticity and never-before published material. Lucifer,Beelzebub and Ashtaroth as well as their servitors & sigils are all fully represented in this rare tome of Demonology. The Ritual Tools and their making remains in classical detail. Preparatory instructions, the Offices of each Demon and the methods of evoking them to visible appearance are described. An appendix, The Book of the Black Serpent, has been added to this edition. Previously unpublished, it supplements the Demonology in Grimoirium Verum in addition to making a rare tract on Angelology available.Grimoirium Verum is, in fact, nothing less than a magician's handbook, containing in small compass the entire rites of preparation, identification of spirits, conjuration and the alleged achievement of the operator's every desire. This book, by traditional definition belongs to black magick, insofar as it tells the operator how to conjure what it admits are demons. In the present state of magical knowledge we would be equally at liberty and even more justified in saying that for all we know the Grimoirium Verum is more original than the Key of Solomon; or that it is one of original books of the Library of Hermes, or even the magical libraries of the Babylonians.

  • The Grand Grimoire

Downloaded: 1 times | Size: 34 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits

One of the most famous and outrageous Grimoires of black magic.A Practical Manual of Diabolic Evocation and Black Magick. The text of Grand Grimoire has been translated by Ms. Gretchen Rudy from the 1612 Italian edition, the primary source work for this grimoire. Secondary sources include the 1823 French edition, which was fraudulently backdated as 1521 and issued as the Red Dragon. The Grand Grimoire was issued again in the later seventeenth century with its original title, Grand Grimoire. Interestingly, the original Italian edition also includes the first published example of the Black Hen, or Black Pullet and although extremely brief, it is the kernalwhich was later elaborated on in subsequent editions as LePoule Noire.

The Grand Grimoire explains a system for entering into a pact with three Infernal Spirits, Lucifer, Ashtaroth & Beelzebuth, through the authority of the Prime Minister of Hell, LucifugeRofocale. In this, the demonology of the Grand Grimoire is unique; while some of the chief spirits are identical to thosein Grimoirium Verum, and others to Lemegeton Clavicula Salomonis vel Regis, the Grand Grimoire stands alone in the literature of demonology with its central figure, Lucifuge Rofocale. The name 'Rofocale' appears to be an anagram for 'Focalor'of the Lemegeton, according to Elizabeth Butler in her Ritual Magic (1949) who goes on to tell us that "by introducing the name of Lucifuge the author has done a service to demonology for which it should be grateful." In his monumental work Of Black Magic & Of Pacts (1898), Arthur E. Waite states that the Grand Grimoire "must be regarded as the veritable Magnum Opus" and he goes on to say that that Eliphas Levi later adopted the personage of Lucifuge in his works.VERSIONS:The Grand Grimoire(42 pages)Dark Lodge version

by Fabre d'Olivet. (French) - (The Hebrew language reconstituted) - Fabre d'Olivet was a very unusual man; for a reason unknown to history, he was persecuted by Napoleon. He spoke more than sixty languages, most of them dead. So that, he tells in the preface, so found out that there were three main languages which gave birth to all western languages: Sanskrit, Chinese and Hebrew. He chose to master Hebrew -- he does not explain it explicitly, but it is easy to see this preference because Hebrew is the language which conveyed all the Mysteries of the White Race. By comparing Arabian, Chaldaic, Aramaic and other languages, he could reconstitute the meaning of the original Hebrew from the esoteric point of view. The hebrew letters as we know them at present was created by Esdras (in the Bibles there is a book of his), who was a high priest and seeing that the Pentateuch written by Moses was no longer understood, reformed that language. Fabre d'Olivet claims to have restored this treasure. This books describes the grammar of the original Hebrew according to initiatic standpoint

  • Jeffrey Spier - Medieval Byzantine Magical Amulets and Their Tradition

Downloaded: 1 times | Size: 45 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits

A diverse yet distinctive group of magical amulets has periodically attracted the attention of scholars from Renaissance times to the present. The amulets take many forms, including engraved gems and cameos, enamel pendants, die-struck bronze tokens, cast or engraved pendants of gold, silver, bronze, and lead, and rings of silver and bronze. All share a common motif-an enigmatic representation of a face from which radiates a varying number of serpents-and this device is usually accompanied by a Greek inscription, often abbreviated or blundered, beginning ('womb, black, blackening...'). The formula makes explicit that the amulets were meant to aid the 'hystera' (womb) in some way, but what is meant by hystera and what sort of aid is intended are in need of clarification. The identification of the image itself, the date and place of origin of the amulets, and the magical tradition to which they belong, are all controversial.

There appears to be little interest again in the group of medieval amulets until the 1800s. Comments on them appear sporadically until the end of the century, when several learned articles were written independently in both western Europe and Russia. The Russian articles derive both from an intense interest in Byzantine texts, including magical tracts, and from the use of similar amulets in medieval Russia. In the West a parallel interest in magical gems and amulets led to a brief article by Wilhelm Froehner, a study of a number of bronze and lead amulets by Gustave Schlumberger, and an important article by Wilhelm Drexler on a variety of magical amulets, gems, and texts and their survival in later European culture. A further gem, found in Poland in 1897, was published by the Byzantinist Vitalien Laurent, who expanded on Drexler's article, adding several unpublished lead examples.

Yet to date there has been no comprehensive survey of the amulets. Many of them have remained unpublished, a number of others are now lost, and no doubt more remain unnoticed in public and private collection
