  • Count Stefan Colonna Walewski - A System of Caucasian Yoga (131 pages) @300cr This rare manuscript reveals secret doctrines of an esoteric Caucasian (Caucasus Mountains) society outlining exercises which constitute the "short path" for the development of conscious mastery. From them he learned orally, the secret traditions of centuries, still preserved by word of mouth among a small and close knit esoteric group with centers hidden in the vast expanse of the Caucasian peaks which are located between the Black Sea (west) and the Caspian Sea (east) and occupied by Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.

  • Taimni - The Science of Yoga (392 pages) Taimni was a biochemist and his scientific viewpoint helps aid Westerners to understand the subtleties of Patanjali's yoga sutras. The author also starts each sutra with the Sanskrit and the translation before the commentary. He even includes diagrams to help the reader. The yoga sutras are a roadmap to spiritual progress. Taimni makes them exciting and useful to yoga practitioners and meditators, no matter if they are beginners or advanced. A sample set of quotes on pranayama are: "Deep breathing has nothing to do with Pranayama", "Real Pranayama begins when the breath is stopped for some time between inhalation and exhalation." For the advanced meditator who is interested in the last three stages of the eight fold path (dharana, dhyana, and samadhi), Taimni's commentary shows he is well-versed in those states of mind. For example, "In practicing Dharana, it is found that as the depth of abstraction increases and the grip over the mind becomes stronger, the frequency with which the distractions appear becomes smaller." The last half of the yoga sutras dwells on the advanced states of samadhi (including samyama) and here Taimni shines with detailed advice, unlike most other authors of similiar commentaries. "When the Yogi performs Samyama on any quality his mind becomes one with that quality for the time being as has been explained in I-41. The positive qualities like courage, compassion, etc. are not vague nebulous things as they appear to the lower mind but real, living, dynamic principles of unlimited power which cannot manifest fully in the lower worlds for lack of adequate instruments."

  • Taimni - The Secret of Self Realization (63 pages) This eleventh century Sanskrit text of Kshemaraja epitomizes the teaching of the Kashmir Saiva philosophy, and was meant to aid aspirants to higher consciousness who were untrained in intellectual and dialectical excercises.

  • Gertrud Hirschi - Mudras: Yoga in Your Hands (233 pages) Mudras also playfully called the "finger power points" are yoga positions for your hands and fingers. They can be practiced sitting, lying down, standing, or walking. They can be done at any time and place while stuck in traffic, at the office, watching TV, or whenever you have to twiddle your thumbs waiting for something. Hirschi shows you how these techniques can prevent illness, relieve stress, and heal emotional problems. Yoga for the hands--sounds too good to be true. Do it at the office, on an airplane, lying in bed. Seasoned yoga teacher Gertrud Hirschi has used these hand postures to ease asthma, relieve flu symptoms, think more effectively, relieve tension, even have a bowel movement. The possibilities she attributes to these ancient Indian techniques are endless. Join the tips of the index finger and thumb: this clears the mind. Switch the thumb to the little finger: this restores the body's fluid balance. It's not quite that easy, of course. Hirschi is careful to lay out exercise regimens, related herbal remedies, and associated affirmations. Like a classroom instructor, she guides with simultaneous breathing advice and conjures up helpful images. From building character to healing emotional pain, from bringing luck to connecting with the divine, mudras can work wonders. Now limber up those digits and lets get into spiritual shape.

  • Advanced Course in Yogi Philosophy and Oriental Occultism (358 pages) We have been told, so often, that we must take certain things "on faith," and that it was "no use bothering our minds concerning them," but this is only a partial statement of truth, for the Intellect does give us a reliable report concerning the real nature of things... -from "Lesson X: The Riddle of the Universe" New Thought proponents at the turn of the twentieth century sought to use mysticism to unleash the forces of the universe in themselves. One of the most influential thinkers of this early "New Age" philosophy promises here, in this 1904 book, to show the reader "to see with the clear vision of the Spirit" and how to "achieve the peace of the awakened and conscious soul." As the yogi reminds us, "No occult teaching is ever wasted-all bears fruit in its own good time." With this significant document of the New Thought movement back in print, now may be the time. American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862-1932)-aka Yogi Ramacharaka-was born in Baltimore and had built up a successful law practice in Pennsylvania before professional burnout led him to the religious New Thought movement. He served as editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and as editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books-including The Philosophies and Religions of India, Arcane Formula or Mental Alchemy and Vril, or Vital Magnetism-under numerous pseudonyms, some of which are likely still unknown today.

  • The Inner Teachings of the Philosophies and Religions of India by Yogi Ramacharaka (379 pages) The Land of the Ganges; The Inner Teachings; The Sankhya System; The Vedanta System; Patanjali's Yoga; The Minor Systems; Buddhism; Sufism; The Religions of India; Hindu Working; The Vedas and Glossary of Sanscrit Terms.

  • Hatha Yoga (264 pages) Followers of the early-20th-century "New Age" philosophy of New Thought believed they could learn the secrets of mind over matter, and one of their most influential teachers-enormously popular writer and editor William Walker Atkinson, writing pseudonymously here-revealed to them, in this 1904 work, the teachings of Hatha Yoga. His lessons cover: . the body's Vital Force . the laboratory of the body . how what we eat impacts the "life fluid" of the blood . the yogi's approach to food and eating . the yogi theory of the "prana absorption" of nutrients . mastering "yogi breathing" . harnessing "pranic energy" . rules for relaxation . and much more. ALSO AVAILABLE FROM COSIMO: Yogi Ramacharaka's Series of Lessons in Gnani Yoga and Series of Lessons in Raja Yoga. • William Atkinson - The Secret of Success (43 pages) Atkinson teaches in this work that individuality is inherent in each of us, and which may be developed and brought into activity in each one of us if we go about it right. Individuality is the expression of our Self - that Self which is what we mean when we say "I". Each of us is an Individual - an "I" - differing from every other "I" in the universe, so far as personal expression is concerned. And in the measure that we express and unfold the powers of that "I", so are we great, strong and successful. We all "have it in us" - it depends upon us to get it out into Expression. And, this Individual Expression lies at the heart of the "Secret of Success". And that is why we use the term - and that is what we shall tell you about in this little book. It will pay for you to learn this "Secret".

  • William Atkinson - Thought Vibration (54 pages)   Followers of the New Thought movement of the early 20th century vehemently believed in the concept of mind over matter, and one of the most influential thinkers of this early New Age philosophy promises here, in this 1906 book, to show you how to harness the extraordinary mental powers you already possess. You'll learn the secret of the will, how to become immune to injurious thought attraction, the transmutation of negative thought, the psychology of emotion, developing new brain-cells, and much more...

  • Science Of Breath (71 pages) Few people are aware of the true power of breath. They take it for granted despite the fact that it is the most essential function for life. Through extended practice amazing things can be performed that would otherwise be unheard of including inhibiting pain, self-healing, healing others, controlling blood flow to areas needing energy, recharging yourself, recharging others, charging water before drinking it, psychic protection, projecting thoughts, transmuting energy, controlling emotions, stimulating the brain, and much more. This powerful book reveals numerous exercises that will amaze and invigorate the reader.
