Q.B.L. or The Brides Reception by Frater Achad (93 pages)
Q.B.L. is a
unique work in both Qabalah and Thelemic circles. In the world of
the Qabalah, Frater Achad revealed revolutionary new principles
that caused students of the Qabalah to reexamine and thus deepen
their knowledge of the Tree of Life. In Thelemic circles, Aleister
Crowley named Frater Achad his magical heir and Achad was fully
expected to lead the cause of Thelemic Magick after Crowley's
death--until publication of this book caused a rift between the
two and Crowley began to distance himself from Achad. This is a
rare and valuable book, both for its insight and circumstances.
True understanding of the Qabalah and its benefit in magical
practice is clearly described, and the information contained is
both practical and revelatory. The circumstances surrounding
it--Frater Achad's falling out with Crowley and eventual descent
into apparent insanity--prove a valuable lesson and warning for
individual seekers and those associated with established mystery
schools.

The Tree Of Life: An
Illustrated Study In Magic by Israel Regardie (282
pages)
@300cr
The Tree of Life presents a massive amount of material that
brings together ancient wisdom and modern magical experience.
Israel Regardie wrote The Tree of Life, a book many consider
his magnum opus, in 1932. It has continued to sell for
decades. And no wonder. Up until the time this book was
published, very little information about true high magic was
available to the public. In this book, Regardie reveals the
secrets of real magic. He begins with an explanation of what
magic is and, just as importantly, what magic is not. He
explains that it is a spiritual study and practice which,
along with forms of yoga, forms the two branches of the tree
that is mysticism. Magic is not being a medium or a psychic.
Then he explains the tools of the magician, what they mean,
and how to use them. He explains the techniques of evocation
and invocation, skrying, and astral travel. He shows how the
Qabalah unites everything. He even gives a description of the
secrets of sexual magick. All of this is in a clear, lucid
writing style. This book is simply a must for anyone who is,
or aspires to be, a real magician.

The Middle Pillar: The Balance between Mind and Magic by
Israel Regardie (289 pages)
@300cr
synopsis The Middle Pillar is one of Regardie's best works. It lucidly
explains the correlation between the Tree of Life and the
human body, and how certain energy centers are activated for
magick.
A Garden of Pomegranates: An Outline of the Qabalah (160
pages)
@200cr
Long considered the best single introduction to the Qabalah
for magicians, the third edition of Israel Regardie's A Garden
of Pomegranates is now better than ever, thanks to the
extensive annotations and new material by Chic Cicero and
Sandra Tabatha Cicero. Their work has made A Garden of
Pomegranates easier to understand, more complete, and up to
date. It now includes over 300 pages of never-before-published
information from two Senior Adepts of the Hermetic Order of
the Golden Dawn. The Qabalah is the ancient system of Hebrew
mysticism that is the foundation of Western magical and
esoteric studies. Its primary symbol is the Tree of Life, a
diagram that can aid in the study of the nature of the
Universe, the essence of God, and the human mind, spirit, and
soul. A Garden of Pomegranates is the clearest introductory
guide on this subject. When Israel Regardie wrote A Garden of
Pomegranates in 1932, he designed it to be a simple yet
comprehensive guidebook outlining the complex system of the
Qabalah and providing a key to its symbolism. Since then, it
has achieved the status of a classic among texts on the
Qabalah. The full annotations, critical commentary, and
explanatory notes now make this book the ultimate single
resource on the subject. The new material, including
pathworkings, exercises, daily affirmations, rituals,
meditations, and more, not only complement the original, full
text included in this edition, but also make A Garden of
Pomegranates the book you simply must have.

The Qabalah Of
50 Gates by Stephen Ashe (108 pages)
@200 Delves into the lore of
the internal journey of the Golden Dawn initiate employing the
approach of the Yetzirahtic story telling tradition, incorporating
lore from the mythos-cycle of Golden Dawn Hermetics, Aleister
Crowley's 'Thelema' and the mercurial methodology of Gurdjieff. By
the author of The Complete Golden Dawn Initiate the work melds the
traditions of Magick and Alchemy, drawing upon the legends of the
mediaeval alchemic-philosophers, the infinity-mathematics of Georg
Cantor, the tantric mysticism of Aleister Crowley. It is a tour de
force of parables describing the experience of each of the 50
Gates of the Qabalah which combine to present a puzzle within an
enigma within a mystery. An erudite introduction by the author
explains the symbolism featuring throughout the work. A Delight
for the serious student of the Golden Dawn Qabalah.

Basic Concepts in Kabbalah by Rev. Michael Laitman, PhD (112
pages)
By reading within this book, one develops internal
observations and approaches that did not previously exist within.
This book is intended for contemplation of spiritual terms. To the
extent that we are integrated with these terms, we begin to unveil
the spiritual structure that surrounds us, almost as if a mist had
been lifted.

Kabbalah - Attaining the Worlds Beyond by Rev. Michael Laitman,
PhD (456 pages)
ATWB is a first step toward discovering the
ultimate fulfilment of spiritual ascent in our lifetime. This book
reaches out to all those who are searching for answers, who are
seeking a logical and reliable way to understand the world's
phenomena. This magnificent introduction to the wisdom of Kabbalah
provides a new kind of awareness that enlightens the mind,
invigorates the heart, and moves the reader to the depths of their
soul.
-
Interview with the Future by Rev. Michael Laitman, PhD (263
pages)
Out of all known creatures, man is the most complete. Yet
it is he, who asks himself the eternal question that keeps facing
him in every generation: what is the purpose of creation? Man
evolves gradually, from generation to generation. He evolves
technologically, scientifically, culturally, but not ethically. At
a certain point in evolution, humanity must feel the need for
spiritual development, or else it will not endure. After that,
humanity should feel an inner need to discover that extra, hidden
sense. The method that was given to mankind for the discovery of
that sense is called "Kabbalah."
-
Introduction to the Book of Zohar by Rev. Michael Laitman, PhD
(304 pages)
will prepare readers to understand the hidden message
of "The Zohar". Among the many helpful topics dealt with in this
companion text to The Science of Kabbalah, readers are introduced
to the "language of roots and branches," without which the stories
in The Zohar are mere fable and legend. Introduction to the Book
of Zohar will certainly furnish readers with the necessary tools
to understand authentic Kabbalah as it was originally meant to be,
as a means to attain the Upper Worlds.

Kabbalah Revealed - The Ordinary Person's Guide to a More Peaceful
Life by Rev. Michael Laitman, PhD (168 pages)
This is a
clearly-written, user-friendly guide to making sense of the
surrounding world while achieving inner peace. Each of its six
chapters focuses on a different aspect of the ancient wisdom of
Kabbalah, illuminating a teaching that has too often been shrouded
in mystery and misconceptions. The first three chapters in
Kabbalah Revealed explain why the world is in a state of crisis,
how our growing desires promote progress as well as alienation,
and why the biggest deterrent to achieving positive change is
rooted in our own spirits. Chapters Four through Six offer a
prescription for positive change. Therein, we learn how we can use
our spirits to build a personally peaceful life in harmony with
all of Creation.

Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life by Rev. Michael
Laitman, PhD (222 pages)
Science explains life's mechanisms;
Kabbalah explains life's purpose. In Kabbalah, Science, and the
Meaning of Life, Rav Michael Laitman, PhD, eloquently introduces
earthshaking concepts so even readers unfamiliar with Kabbalah or
science can easily understand. Kabbalah explains that we are all
one soul, materialized in many bodies. Similarly, modern science
states that at the most fundamental level, we are all literally
one. Science proves that reality is affected by its observer.
Kabbalah states that reality, and even the Creator exist only
within the observer. If you're just a little curious about reality
and life's meaning, this is your book.

The
Kabbalah Experience by Rev. Michael Laitman, PhD (450 pages)
Never has the language of Kabbalah been as clear and accessible as
it is here, in this compelling, informative collection. The depth
of wisdom revealed in the questions and answers of this book will
inspire reflection and contemplation. Readers will also begin to
experience a growing sense of enlightenment while simply absorbing
the words on every page. The Kabbalah Experience is a guide from
the past to the future, revealing situations that all students of
Kabbalah will experience at some point along their journeys.
-
The Path
of Kabbalah by Rev. Michael Laitman, PhD (382 pages)
"Thou
shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of
likeness" (Exodus 20:3). This prohibition from the Bible is
also the basis of the Wisdom of Kabbalah. Kabbalists state that
there is no reality at all, but something called His Essence, the
Upper Force. As uncanny as it sounds, this notion hides in its
wings the very prospect of freedom, for every person, for every
nation, and for the entire world. The structure and the perception
of reality are the surface of this book. But the story of
humanity, or more accurately, of the human soul, is the
undercurrent that drives the reader forward in this book. It is
about you; about me; about all of us. This book is about the way
we were, the way we are, the way we will be, and most importantly,
it is about the best way to get there.
-
The
Science of Kabbalah (612 pages)
Here, Rav Laitman reveals
authentic Kabbalah in a manner that is both rational and mature.
Readers are gradually led to an understanding of the logical
design of the Universe and the life whose home it is. The Science
of Kabbalah, a revolutionary work that is unmatched in its
clarity, depth, and appeal to the intellect, will enable readers
to approach the more technical works of Baal HaSulam (Rav Yehuda
Ashlag), such as "Talmud Eser Sefirot" and Zohar.Although
scientists and philosophers will delight in its illumination,
laymen will also enjoy the satisfying answers to the riddles of
life that only authentic Kabbalah provides.

given by Rev Michael Laitman, PhD, which were then edited by staff
members of the Ashlag Research Institute (ARI). The first part,

Joseph Dan - Kabbalah: A Very Short Introduction (140 pages)
-
Hebrew Letter Workbook (31 pages)
@200 The purpose of this booklet is
to help all students who want to learn how to draw, and recognize
the Hebrew letters. The various shapes of the letters are easily
reproduced using modem calligraphy pens. These instructions
presume students are familiar with various types of graph paper
and edged pens. Some students may be aware of other styles of
drawing the letters. These particular examples were used for
clarity and ease. When this booklet refers to "families of
letters," it is not alluding to the divisions familiar to students
of Qabalah: the 3 mother, 7 double, and 12 simple letters. The
groupings used are based on similarity and relation of shape. Much
confusion and error frustrate beginning students because of slight
but very important differences in appearance. Experience with this
particular organization of the letters has helped many students,
allowing them to draw nearly perfect letters in a very short
period of time.

@300 The importance of the Tree of
Life when looked at from its negative side will give the reader

important book for occult students on any path.

at the Ten Sephiroth and their traditional attributions in each of

approach to modern Qabalism. It uses simple language, and very
clever symbolism to explain the workings of it. It analyzes each
of the ten Sephiroth from each of the Four Qabalistic worlds,
providing the reader with something sorely missed in Dion

Kraig - Modern Magick: Eleven Lessons in the High Magickal Arts
(528 pages)
@500
synopsis Modern Magick is the most comprehensive
step-by-step introduction to the art of ceremonial magic ever
offered. The eleven lessons in this book will guide you from the
easiest of rituals and the construction of your magickal tools
through the highest forms of magick: designing your own rituals
and doing pathworking. Along the way you will learn the secrets of
the Kabbalah in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. Essential
one of the key texts which has taken magick and again thrust it
into the daylight. Magickal orders worldwide, from pagans, to
Wiccans to the Golden Dawn, owe the tremendous rise in interest in
magick in large part to Kraig's influence through this phenomenal
volume. Unlike other texts, most characterized by Crowley's habit
of talking around magickal theory, Kraig's text emphasizes the
"DOING" in magick, and gets the reader/student performing rituals
and making magick from the very first chapter. While heavily
influenced and almost wholly based on the Golden Dawn system,
Modern Magick also incorporates other systems, with a whole lotta
pagan workings and a dash of tantric thrown in, to boot. Kraig was
one of the first authors to address the much lamented tendency
that ceremonial magicians talk a lot about magick, but actually DO
very little. This book is fundamentally focused on doing, and,
while a course for the beginner, takes the student through
sufficiently advanced magick to satisfy the depth of knowledge any
novice is likely to aspire to. |

Milo DuQuette - The
Chicken Qabalah of Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford: Dilettante's Guide to
What You Do and Do Not Need to Know to Become a Qabalist (233

@300
synopsis A unique and humorous—and also
uniquely practical—approach to the increasingly popular study of
Qabalah. This is a seriously funny book! Learn the basics of
Qabalah in spite of yourself! Traditional Qabalistic (or
Cabalistic, or, indeed, Kabbalistic—read this book to find out
what the difference is…we know you’ve always wondered) sources
tend to be a bit, er, dry. DuQuette spices up the Qabalah and
makes it come alive, restoring the joy of learning the
fundamentals of this admittedly arcane system by using simple,
amusing anecdotes and metaphors. This account, written
psuedepigraphically (fictitiously attributed to a supposed
authority), allows DuQuette as Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford to soar to
outrageous heights and, when necessary, stand apart from the
silliness to highlight the golden eggs of Qabalistic wisdom nested
therein. Sure to be a revelation to those all who think that
teaching about the Qabalah needs to be tedious and serious,
DuQuette shows that great truths can be transmitted through the
medium of laughter.

The Key to Solomon's Key: Secrets of Magic and Masonry (209 pages)
@300 Sketching out a fascinating
network of historic figures, cults, and Christendom, this book by
an occult studies expert and respected authority on magic and
sorcery takes western spiritual traditions seriously—but examines
them with common sense and self-effacing humor. Working backward
from the Freemasons to one of their original orders, the
14th-century Knights Templar, the account considers sorcery,
heresy, and intrigues; explores the legend that the Knights
possessed a powerful secret dangerous to the Church of Rome; and
finds an essential clue to the order's practices in their
connection to the biblical Solomon, king of Israel in the 10th
century B. C.

Robert Wang - Qabalistic Tarot: A Textbook of Mystical Philosophy (296 pages)
@500 Hailed by reviewers as "a
masterpiece," and as "the single most profound reference of its
kind," The Qabalistic Tarot has become the standard in its field,
a book essential to all students of Tarot symbolism. It is both a
textbook and a sourcebook for the symbols of the Western Hermetic
Qabalah, a corpus of mystical ideas which have, for centuries,
exerted a powerful influence on the development of Western
thought. Dr. Wang explains the Tarot as an externalization of a
mystical system which has evolved from approximately the third
century C.E. to our own time. He traces the development of
Qabalistic ideas from the Neoplatonic through the Medieval,
Renaissance, and Modern periods, systematically discussing each
Sephira and Path on the Tree of Life. He uses the Tarot images as
a point of visual reference, and provides a thorough explanation
of the symbolic intricacies of the Paths. The Qabalistic Tarot is
recommended as a comprehensive textbook for individual study or
for the classroom. The first and only work based on the four major
decks in use today, it is the ideal companion book for the Golden
Dawn Tarot, the Thoth Tarot, the Rider-Waite Tarot, or the
traditional Marseilles deck.

Joseph Liseiwski - Kabbalistic Handbook for the Practicing
Magician (189 pages)
@300
synopsis For the practicing Magician,
there is no more crucial working knowledge than the Kabbalah. This
complex structure serves as the backdrop against which the
magician's thoughts, ideas, ritual and ceremonial work are placed,
and is the archetype which breathes life into secret occult
practices. Yet, none of the numerous books on 'Qabalah' give those
'on-the-spot' attributions, correspondences and key concepts in a
'user-friendly' style. Until now. And The Kabbalistic Handbook
gives you even more. It includes never-before-published techniques
that enables Western Magic---including Golden Dawn Magic---to work
flawlessly every time! Never again will you need to wade through
voluminous chapters of many different books looking for the
Kabbalistic information you need. In addition, you will have a
course of instruction that will enable that knowledge to work for
you as never before. The field is cleared for your main objective:
the realization of your desires, manifested through properly
executed ritual and ceremonial work.

controlled, the violent disruptions which are already overtaking
civilization will become pandemic.

Gareth Knight - A Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism.Vol 2
(185 pages)
Gareth Knight has put together perhaps the most
complete assessment of Qabalistic symbology yet published in one
book, both for the Tree of Life and the Tarot. As such, it's value
to beginning students of Qabalah cannot be overstated. Be this as
it may, Knight sometimes uses the book as a soapbox for trumpeting
his particular Christian/Scientology brand of Qabalistic dogma,
which may leave many libertines out in the cold. He also
mistakenly considers Gematria unnecessary to the understanding
Qabalistic symbology (!) and tends to beat up Aleister Crowley
needlessly while embracing the Master's exchange of the Tarot
cards The Emperor and The Star in accordance with Liber AL vel
Legis (an allusion to L. Ron Hubbard's Thelemic roots, methinks).
However, in spite of these drawbacks, Knight presents the Qabalah
lucidly and with great erudition, in a language which is
suprisingly accessible to all newcomers. He even dares to show how
the Christian Mysteries are relevant to Qabalistic philosophy,
often considered taboo in esoteric circles. One of the best
features of the book is Knight's thorough comparative analysis of
numerous Tarot symbologies, including those of A. E. Waite,
Aleister Crowley, and Paul Foster Case. This is definitely an
important work which belongs on every Qabalist's bookshelf.

Kabbalah (300 pages)
For many centuries, the wisdom of Kabbalah was inaccessible to
anyone who could not read Hebrew. Now, for the first time in the
history of the Western World, readers of the English language and
serious students of Kabbalah have the opportunity to learn the
Wisdom of Kabbalah from the 20th Century's greatest Kabbalist,
Baal HaSulam. In this text,* the student will find a systematic,
graduated exposition of Kabbalah unlike any treatment found in
other available texts. This text comes with a brilliant commentary
by Michael Laitman, a scientist and Kabbalist who received the
Tradition from that illustrious chain that includes the Ari, Baal
HaSulam, and his teacher, Rabash. "The Wisdom of Kabbalah" is an
exhaustive text that the reader will certainly make a steady
companion in his exploration of the Upper Worlds for many years to
come.
Tree of
Life: An Introduction to the Cabala - Halevi (199 pages)
The Cabalistic Tree of
Life has been with us for two thousand or more years. Every age
has seen it through its own eyes and this book is an attempt to
cast it into twentiethcentury terms so that its blossoms may
flower for another season. The Tree of Life is an analogue of the
Absolute, the Universe and Man. Its roots penetrate deep into the
earth below and its top branches touch the uppermost heaven. Man,
meeting point between heaven and earth, is an image of his
Creator. A complete but unrealised Tree in miniature, and lower
than the angels, his is to choose to rise higher by climbing the
branches of himself, and so gain the ultimate fruit.

Once the exclusive secret of the select few, the secrets of
magical symbolism are now revealed in Western Mandalas of
Transformation. Updated and refined through practical experience,
the full range of talismans, mandalas, flashing tablets, kameas,
sigils, and seals are made understandable and readily available to
you. Numerous illustrations demonstrate how to properly create and
use these powerful images to positively change your life. Use
sound Qabalistic principles derived from the Tree of Life to
fashion powerful, transformative mandalas and seals. Work with a
wide range of energies to facilitate healing, personal
empowerment, and spiritual development.
William Gray - Qabalistic Concepts: Living the Tree (379
pages)
@300 In this book, the author writes
from within me magic tradition. He places emphasis on how the
Qabalah actively influences the Western Mystery Tradition."Gray
has the ability to bring a very abstract subject, the Qabalah,
down to the level where it can be comprehended by nearly anyone...
to understandable terms without destroying its essence".
William Gray - An Outlook On Our Inner Western Way (159 pages)
@300 William Gray is one of the most
prolific--and controversial--occultists writing today. Blending
keen insight, modern psychological models and an overall sense of
practicality, his books have torn away at the moldy veils of
so-called occult secrets, laying out a no-nonsense foundation by
which modern Western humanity may once again regain its precious
magical soul. In this book, Mr. Gray shows, simply and lucidly,
how to live the Western Inner Tradition. Tracing the cosmology of
Western magic, he substantiates its vitality and urgency for our
future. Not since Magick in Theory and Practice and the works of
Dion Fortune has there been such a mammoth attempt at presenting
magic as the relevant, living tradition it is.

William Gray - Temple Magic: Building the Personal Temple: Gateway
to Inner Worlds (273 pages)
@300 As with all of William Gray's
book if you are looking to win someone's affections or turn
yourself into a demon you have come to the wrong place. Rather the
serious student or the seriously interested, but uninitiated could
do no better. This book builds upon previous works in
intelligently and accessibly presenting "occult" theory and
practice (though one does have to read a bit between the lines,
this is no more difficult then any other philosophical or
religious treatise)-(the practice part is not usually Step 1, etc,
it is: further study, or meditating on this, etc.). A good book
for the middle way.

William G. Gray
expounds clearly the most important ritual of the Sangreal
Sodality in this book. It is similar to a Christian mass, but it
is not. The concepts of what the san-greal (royal blood), qabalah,
and other elements of this tradition including the meaning of the
symbol used by the Sangreal Sodality are explained. I think this
book is good because it is meant to allow people, such as myself
or you, to create a Sangreal Sodality with others. This is what
William Gray mentions in the book in it's later chapters. He
associates his writing this book with the work of others in the
1600's who allowed for the formation of the Rosicrucian Movement.
They wrote books/pamphlets with a set of ideals that would
eventually be crystalized by the people who read the documents
written for that tradition.

Pat Zalewski - Kabbalah of the Golden Dawn (236 pages)
@500cr
The key to this book's value is that it is a reference book of
source material meant to live in the context of a Golden Dawn
collection. It is packed with original material not to be found
elsewhere in print, before or yet again as of the date of this
review. While this book will be of interest to everyone who
studies Kabbalah, it will be of especial interest to Golden Dawn
practitioners and scholars who wish to deepen their knowledge of
this particular "GD" approach to Kabbalah. Having said that, it is
not a Primer but assumes a basic knowledge of the GD kabbalistic
structure and metaphors available elsewhere, from which basis it
is a deeper discussion and an enhancement -- even, in some cases,
an intriguing challenge to what is elsewhere printed. It will
therefore be invaluable to anyone who has already picked up the
basics of the Golden Dawn approach to Kabbalah who wants deeper
information on a particular point, at which time they can study
the original documents inside, which are minimally colored by
commentary. A technical example is the Chapter on the
ShemHaMephorash, or the name in extension. Zalewski tells where
the original Philosophus lecture comes from, and provides an
interesting diagram from that original Paper that stands in
contrast to the Leo centered ordering of the angels of the Name
provided by Mathers, a scheme which is central to the GD
understanding of the Tarot pip cards. This may be significant or
not to different readers, but is invaluable food for thought to
anyone seriously working out for themselves the true attributions
of the Name in Extension to the Zodiac and the Tarot.

The
Kabala of Numbers by Sepharial
(206 pages)
In 1913 Sepharial published the results of his studies in a
two-volume work which he called THE KABALA OF NUMBERS. In it he
presented a clear and original revelation of the kabalistic, or
esoteric, doctrine of numerals. He discusses the relationship
between Numerology and Astrology, and shows how a person's destiny
can be read in his name. Explained in great detail are the
fascinating relationships between numbers and the phenomena of
nature--color, sound, planetary motion, cycles--and the amazing
laws, such as the Law of Periodicity, which govern the occult
world. Parts 1 and 2 are combined in this book. A book of
Kabalistic numerology: how numbers effect our lives and how they
can be used to access the occult. Selected chapters: The power of
numbers; Various methods of Kabalism; Number and automatism;
Thought-reading by numbers; The Kabalism of cycles; Bruno's
symbolism; God geometrises; Number as expressing thought; Number
in relation to feeling; The law of periodicity; Coincidences make
laws; Phrenoscopy; Planetary hours; Science and superstition.
