Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) combined scholarly rigor with a sense
of humor and great literary ability to become the most widely read
author in 20th-century occultism. He single-handedly redefined
magick as a field of inquiry and endeavor through his books and
the orders that he led--the A.A. and the O.T.O. In the 2002 BBC
Great Britons poll in which over one million people voted, Crowley
ranked 73 among the hundred most influential Britons of all time.

believe the original recording was made circa 1920 on a wax
cylinder. Distributed below as MP3 files.
Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), also known as 'The
Great Beast' and the 'Wickedest Man in the World,' was one of the
most profound students of Magick, Qabalah and yoga psychology. His
vast influence reaches through all modern occultism. He is widely
recognized as the first Western investigator to give initiation a
truly scientific method. In reconciling occultism to physical
science, mathematics and philosophy, Crowley achieved a lasting
synthesis that remains unsurpassed for depth of insight and
comprehensiveness.
