  • Stephen Flowers - Galdrabok: Icelandic Grimoire

Downloaded: 7 times | Size: 135 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @500 credits

The Galdrabok is split into two parts: a history of ancient (particularly Icelandic) magick and a variety of Icelandic and Teutonic magick spells. Flowers' historical account is interesting even if you do not believe in the existance of magick. This account is particularly interesting if you are researching this topic; I have not seen too many books that go as in-depth as Flowers does. Flowers also includes one or two sets of runes for those interested. For those interested in the applications of the spells, Flowers includes an extensive list (and how to work the spell) for everything from staunching blood (this one actually works) to good luck charms. He informs the reader as to what materials are required, as well as what the characters (called "staves") should look like. Flowers also includes an extensive bibliography for those wanting more information on the subject. As with most books on magick, Flowers suggests that you be careful, but not in a "standard" way. Rather, Flowers tells of one overly-eager magician who hungered for more and more powere - he was destroyed by that which he sought.

For centuries, familiars have assumed many forms-the heavenly lover of the shaman, the wise imp of the witch, and the elemental companion of the theurgist. But the time-honored practice of summoning a magical assistant has been mostly forsaken due to the false perception that it is both difficult and dangerous. Now, renowned occultist Donald Tyson shares his revolutionary system for safely and successfully summoning, directing, and dismissing a familiar. Accessible to dedicated beginners, these techniques do not require expertise in formal ritual, astrology, or the Revealed here for the first time is Tyson's unique system for generating spirit sigils based on a set of symbols called Power Glyphs. Techniques, technologies, and skills that will give you an edge in living with magick in the harsh and beautiful realm that is reality. A system that incorporates anything and everything depending upon personal relevance and usefulness. Tactical Magick is a book that presents a way of taking magick out of the inner sanctum and onto the streets of the real world. This is results magick right to the core.

  • [ recommended ] Nick Hall - Chaos & Sorcery

Downloaded: 17 times | Size: 127 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @300 credits

Rather than invest belief in abstruse metaphysical theory, Nick Hall has chosen here to build a system from an eclectic range of practical procedures culled from many cultures. Informing the whole treatise however is the chaoist meta-belief that belief structures reality. This is pragmatic magick at its best. Devise or discover a technique that seems worth investing belief in, and if you can validate it, include it in your grimoire, without worrying how or why it works. Many times in the course of reading this text I stopped to make a note of something that seemed worth trying out. That, I think, is the mark of a useful book. Unless the vast majority of the magicians work in complete isolation from their more public peers, then the ratio of civilians who merely collect magic books to actual working magicians may be estimated at ninety to one. This is a book for the one-percenters, although it may inspire the rest to actually pick up a wand for a change. All it takes is guts and imagination, not much specialist knowledge is required - Peter J. Carroll

  • The Book of Results by Ray Sherwin

Downloaded: 228 times | Size: 27 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @300 credits

Casting sigils is a highly effective form of sorcery and Sherwin provides a sound overview of the process. He cuts through the cant, rhetoric and old-fashioned moral baggage associated with magical practice and shows us how to use sigils to influence the subconscious, bypassing the often contradictory and usually self-sabotaging internal dialogue of the conscious mind.

The Book of Results was first published in 1978 just as Chaos Magick was emerging from the stygian depths of the primordial occult oozo and it was essentially a book about the practise and theory of sigils as espoused by Austin Spare at the turn of the Twentieth Century. However, Sherwin takes the process of working with sigils and develops it into a fully ritualised technique. In this book he describes a daily regime that, at first glance, seems to owe more to Abra-Melin though much more compact and personalised than to Chaos Magick. However, this is Chaos Magick in its true form without much chaos. The chaos in this book is anything but disorganised. The discipline described by Sherwin is far from the adhoc, make-it-up-as-you-go-along rituals that often seems to accompany much of what Chaos Magick has become over the years. The true Chaos Magick that Sherwin describes is the chaos of abandoning all established theory and running barefoot ahead with no boundaries. This sort of writing is where Chaos Magick came from. Letting go of the cobwebs of doctrine and dogma - left over by the likes of Crowley, Mathers or The Key of Solomon - is what Chaos Magick was supposed to be about. Having said that Sherwin isn't afraid of referring to the likes of Crowley but he takes what he needs and builds from there.

The book includes a great deal of practical advice, which can be very useful at the beginning of a magical career and is a breath of fresh air to any one who wants to learn REAL Magick. This revised version of The Book of Results includes additional chapters which are both thought provoking and innovative. Some may think he strips magic (k) of its mystery, romance and grandeur, if so you should look elsewhere if you are seeking enlightenment, union with the Divine, or fancy a chat with your Holy Guardian Angel. However, if like most of us, you simply want to create and fire a number of sigils to help you manifest your desires (sex, wealth, material things); THE BOOK OF RESULTS provides the information you need.

  • Jan Fries - Seidways: shaking, swaying and serpent mysteries

Downloaded: 18 times | Size: 326 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @300 credits

Manual of rune magick, and Visual Magick, a handbook of freestyle shamanism, comes the definitive study of magical trance and possession techniques. The author is inspired by the Nordic tradition of Seidr, said to have been taught to the human race by Odin. The book provides an extensive survey of the manifestation of this powerful technique through several related magical traditions - shamanism, mesmerism, draconian cults and even the nightside of European paganism. Seething is probably the most useful magical technique I have ever learned. I first was taken by the pleasure of it. My body felt warm and sensual, and seething in the hips felt quite sexual. I liked the feeling of my body taking over where the shaking was first voluntary - but I could still have some control, making the shaking stronger or more subtle. After a while I started to see visions - something that very rarely happens to me. I could see (with my physical eyes, not astrally!) the surface of the land in the centre of the circle rippling, like waves of energy. It was a really moving experience in a site that - until then - had not been particularly 'special' to me... it ..has had a major impact upon my magical work which used to be largely indoors, as at last I have found a way that I can work outdoors. This gives my magical work a potency that it simply didn't have before. - Shantidevi quoted in chapter twelve 'Rhythms and the Mind'

It shows how magicians, witches, artists and therapists can improve visionary abilities, enhance imagination, activate the inner senses, and discover new modes of trance awareness. The emphasis is on direct experience and the reader is asked to think, act, do, and enjoy as s/he wills.Visual Magick began as a small treatise on sigil magick and automatic drawing and was circulated amongst occultists. It is especially suitable for practicing mind explorers of the unorthodox variety. Both beginners and experienced magicians will find it inspirational and insightful.

  • Stealing the Fire From Heaven - Stephen Mace

Downloaded: 16 times | Size: 119 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

Stephen Maces "Stealing the Fire from Heaven - A Technique for Creating Individual Systems of Sorcery" is often touted as an excellent starting point for the aspiring magician/sorcerer as well as the experienced magician. Dagon Productions is proud to announce the publishing of the revised and expanded version of "Stealing the Fire from Heaven".

"This essay offers a technique that individuals can use to create their own systems of sorcery, systems precisely tailored to fit their own unconscious minds. By following its instructions, the reader can cause his or her subliminal self to design its own symbols to represent the powers that lie within it. The result will be what is essentially a personal language of power, one that has meaning only for his or her self, but full of potency because it is his or her own soul’s way of expressing itself." - Stephen Mace

  • [ recommended ] Packwood - Memetic Magic

Downloaded: 36 times | Size: 167 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

This phenomenal work possesses the very real possibility of being hailed as one of the most profound underground books on the magical arts ever written. Never before has the occult nature of society, the Root Social Matrix, been discussed.

In addition, the paradigm-shattering claim is made that this book contains the foundational framework underlying a thorough comprehension of the means by which the very fabric of reality can be manipulated through simple artistic techniques based on memetic symbology. The ancient wisdom of the pagan sorcerers is combined with modern scientific social theory by a cultural anthropologist, resulting in a new age of magic where reality itself becomes mutable.

  • Peter J. Carroll - The Apophenion

Downloaded: 9 times | Size: 163 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

Apophenion attacks most of the great questions of being, free will, consciousness, meaning, the nature of mind, and humanity's place in the cosmos, from a magical perspective. Some of the conclusions seem to challenge many of the deeply held assumptions that our culture has taught us, so brace yourself for the paradigm crash and look for the jewels revealed in the wreckage. This book contains something to offend everyone; enough science to upset the magicians, enough magic to upset the scientists, and enough blasphemy to upset most trancendentalists.

  • Patrick Dunn - Magic Power Language Symbol

Downloaded: 23 times | Size: 266 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

From the sigils of chaos magic to the numerical code of Qabalah, all magical practices operate in a web of symbols and language. Yet academics seldom examine the role that semiotics and linguistics play in the unfolding of magical works.

In the follow-up to his debut Postmodern Magic, Patrick Dunn returns once again to the theoretical realm of the sign, the signified, and the changeable perceptions of a slippery reality. Intellectual and aggressively modern, his language-driven perspective on magic touches on all elements voiced and written, from speaking in tongues and creating mantras to composing Enochian spells and working with gematria. A hefty appendix includes exercises that put Dunn's theories to work, as well as the first published dictionary of English alphabet numerology.

Highly literate and highly readable, Magic, Power, Language, Symbol will tickle the minds of theory-thirsty academics and seasoned mages alike, as well as anyone else eager to examine the manufacture of meaning.

  • [ recommended ] Prometheus Rising by R.A Wilson

Downloaded: 122 times | Size: 284 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

This book explains human experience in terms of biological circuits and imprints. It tells you how to alter your brain in a positive fashion. He teaches you to see the world differently, though not necessarily his way. The author demonstrates how the human mind can be either used for freedom or slavery in this book. The choice is up to us. Using Leary's model of the Eight Circuit nervous system Wilson explain such things as patriotism, brainwashing, and morality. He then systematically shows you how to brainwash yourself for fun and profit. The exercises are the main benefit of the book. This is taking into account all the useful information he provides on each circuit, along with correspondences to the Tarot and James Joyce.
