  • Experimentum, Potens Magna in Occult Philosophy (A Great & Powerful Practical Demonstration of Secret Rites) by Frederick Hockley

Downloaded: 16 times | Size: 74 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

This is another stunning effort by the Society Esoteric Endeavour. This superb Grimoire contains various spells, charms & incantations, drawn by Hockley from a variety of sources, and beautifully illustrated with some fantastic plates - making this Grimoire, a true work of art.

In the work Hockley collects a number of rituals, giving some a powerful visual form, akin to a Mandala. In the final ritual, a perilous invocation of Oberion, he records the appearance of the spirit in a grotesque form reminiscent of Edvard Munch’s the Scream. This shows Hockley to be an occult artist of a status hitherto unrealised in publications of his work. One wonders if the references to the ritual use of cannabis and opium in Experimentum signal tools that Hockely used. There are magical procedures for causing the destruction of enemies, routing out thievery, the magical protection of places and buildings, magical fascination, fulfilling sexual desire and a perilous invocation of the spirit Oberion. There is a strong folkish element hand in hand with complex ritual. Hockley gives some spells a striking visual forms, akin to Mandala. These, supplemented by a haunting illustration of a grotesque Oberion - reminiscent of Edvard Munch’s the Scream, establish Hockley as an innovative occult artist in ways unseen in previous publications. Throughout he employs calligraphic hands, rather than his usual handwriting, making this a visually impressive volume.

  • Sexual Sorcery: A Complete Guide To Sex Magick by Jason Augustus Newcomb

Downloaded: 16 times | Size: 243 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @150 credits

In plain, straightforward language, Jason Newcomb, author of 21st Century Mage and The New Hermetics, tackles a subject that many magical texts gloss over or ignore--the practice of sex magick. Sexual Sorcery covers the many aspects of using sex as a sacrament, a ritual, or an expression of diving love. It also provides a plenty of practical information helpful to any modern sorcerer.

Sexual Sorcery includes preliminaries to practice, such as how to broach the subject of sex magick with a partner (or how to find a partner), explanations of sexual technique as well as etiquette and energy, and the value of love in any relationship, especially a sexual relationship incorporating magick. From the base, Sexual Sorcery delves into the various techniques, types, and rituals of sex magick--using magick to enhance sex, ecstatic and mystical experiences during sex, and more esoteric techniques of sexulal invocation, evocation, and alchemy.

  • Holding the Tiger's Tail - An Acupuncture Techniques Manual in the Treatment of Disease by Skya Gardner-Abbate

Downloaded: 15 times | Size: 262 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @500 credits

Holding the Tiger's Tail is primarily a book on technique, but its particular charm lies in the ability of the author to make crystal clear subjects whose complexity can often perplex and mystify students and newly qualified practitioners. It is eminently readable, and an excellent technical and practical reference book for both the clinical student and novice to mid-range practitioner. It makes no attempt to be a comprehensive textbook - more, it is a collection of ideas which clearly interest the author and are well worth taking on board as part of the elaborate tool kit of a skilled practitioner. The book covers much of the practical groundwork of an acupuncture clinician. It is not as basic, for instance, as Acupuncture and Moxibustion- A guide to Clinical Practice by Auteroche, Gervais, Auteroche, Navailh, Toui-Kan, and yet produces a strong sense of the real-life energetics of qi. The evolution of oriental acupuncture into a system suitable for use in the West on western patients is demonstrated through the very human yet eclectic style of this book. Her sources are wide and varied and, where understanding is not readily available from outside sources, Ms Gardner-Abbate is not at all averse to presenting her own hypotheses based on sound clinical experience. A strong point of this book is in the author's ability to convince us that her well developed ideas arise from long-term and varied clinical experience: experiences on which she has reflected at length and constructively, which encompass the entirety of the therapeutic encounter rather than stopping at the level of technical expertise. It is unusual to read a good practical book and, at the same time, get a sense of the author as a rounded, highly evolved practitioner - Ms Gardner Abbate's patients 'live' and so does she.

The book is written in two parts. Part 1, General Treatment Approaches, contains 14 chapters on various techniques.

The first chapter looks at protocols for making a diagnosis and treatment strategies and the second looks at different needling techniques. Here there is a very interesting section on point pathology; using inspection, auscultation, olfaction, palpation and inquiry to determine pathological conditions from points alone. In this section of the book is also a brief but interesting overview of different interpretations of what a point actually is.

There is a simple, straightforward and clear explanation of point classification including luo points, xi (cleft) points, influential points, coalescent points, confluent points etc. Later on in the book, a chapter is exclusively devoted to these points with a stress on the gynaecological implications. This is particularly helpful in view of the proportion of female patients one sees, and the large amount of gynaecological conditions presenting.

  • Ancient Egyptian Demonology

Downloaded: 15 times | Size: 221 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits

In the Egyptian context, what we term magic and demon, drawing on our own cultural heritage, are not seen as negative aspects of cultural practice and conceptualisation. Similarly, the Egyptian equivalents do not carry the pejorative connotations borne by the modern terms and their Greek antecedents; magic and demons can be forces for good as well as evil. Indeed, the practice of magic and the conceptualisation of personified demonic agents are central to the Egyptian understanding of the workings of the world from the very continuation of the cosmos itself down to the vicissitudes of existence faced by individuals. In particular, the broader practice of magic and articulation of the involvement of demonic agency form one of the crucial links in Ancient Egypt between individual existence on the human level and the level of nature or the cosmos, the realm of the gods. Unlike, though, the explicit recognition of the term demon in the ancient Greek language and religion, as the intermediary between god and mortals, the majority of the demonic names in the Egyptian literature do not possess an apparent ontological essence, or a clearly defined denotation. Their characteristics and role depended momentously on the verbal and performative ritual environment they were part of. The relation between the name of a demon and its cosmic-natural personification is not contradictory as it may seem, but it is closely interwoven in a well established ritual framework of words and actions. This multi-authored volume of 10 essays comprises an up-to-date authorization account of many aspects of ancient Egyptian demonology, including the multiple persona of the demonic or name vs. identity in the Egyptian formation of the demonic, nightmares and underworld demons, dream rituals and magic, categories of demonic entities and the vague distinction between the divine and the demonic in Egyptian cosmology and ritual, the theological and demonic aspects of Egyptian magic, demons as reflections of human society.

At the same time, the book is a comprehensive manual of evocation, containing dozens of easy-to-follow rituals and exercises for exploring and creating magical entities of every sort. Farber teaches readers to wake up from their habitual trance, to reprogram themselves to stand in the Mystery without unnecessary mystification. This supercharged fusion of tried-and-true magical and psychological techniques moves beyond trauma, healing, and recovery into self-fulfillment and self-transformation. Combining both disciplines with methods such as intentionality, autohypnosis, visualization, personification, and experiential journeys, Farber creates a powerful system that opens the way to peak experiences, self-knowledge, even cosmic consciousness. Rather than importing standardized healing images, readers learn to create their own emergent metaphors, their own creative strengths and flexible freedom.

  • Forbidden Rites: A Necromancer's Manual of the Fifteenth Century

Downloaded: 14 times | Size: 394 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @50 credits

A general introduction to medieval magic, containing a little-known handbook from the late Middle Ages. 'Forbidden Rites is the best book on magic in the late Middle Ages and a great introduction to the problematic relations of magic and religion in general.' H. C. Erik Midelfort, University of Virginia Preserved in the Bavarian State Library in Munich is a manuscript that few scholars have noticed and that no one in modern times has treated with the seriousness it deserves. Forbidden Rites consists of an edition of this medieval Latin text with a full commentary, including detailed analysis of the text and its contents, discussion of the historical context, translation of representative sections of the text, and comparison with other necromantic texts of the late Middle Ages. The result is the most vivid and readable introduction to medieval magic now available.

Like many medieval texts for the use of magicians, this handbook is a miscellany rather than a systematic treatise. It is exceptional, however, in the scope and variety of its contents prayers and conjurations, rituals of sympathetic magic, procedures involving astral magic, a catalogue of spirits, lengthy ceremonies for consecrating a book of magic, and other materials.

With more detail on particular experiments than the famous thirteenth-century Picatrix and more variety than the Thesaurus Necromatiae ascribed to Roger Bacon, the manual is one of the most interesting and important manuscripts of medieval magic that has yet come to light.

  • [ recommended ] Melita Denning and Osborne Phillips - Practical Guide To Psychic Self-Defense and Well-being

Downloaded: 13 times | Size: 235 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @300 credits

Deliberate psychic attack is very rare. However, your psyche is constantly under attack from friends and strangers, advertisers and politicians who want to manipulate you. Luckily, there is a solution.

The best way to overcome attacks on your psyche is through awareness that they are occurring. This requires you to become more awake and alert to this bombardment. Part of the technique is to understand how this attempted manipulation works. By studying this book you will gain that knowledge. The result is that the psychological intimidation that has been used on you in the past will no longer control you.

There are two types of psychic attack. The first kind is attack by a person who has not had any occult training. He or she may feel slighted or betrayed by you (based on actual or imagined situations) and hold on to negative emotions. Eventually, unknown to that person, the negative energy can leap out, directed at you.

This book reveals that your aura is your best line of defense. By using the exercises in this book to strengthen your aura, any such unintentional psychic attack will easily be dispelled and discharged. Even more rare is the "classic" psychic attack where a person does some sort of spell or ritual to harm you. Full instructions are given for overcoming such negative magick, both on a practical, physical level (sever any physical connection between you and the attacker) and on a ritual, spiritual level (perform blessings and rites to overcome psychic attack).

But what happens if an attack does get through? First, you have to know how to recognize it. Usually, a successful attack strikes at your weak link. That could be your physical health (causing illness) or your mental attitude (causing depression). This book will show you how to recognize the problem and how to deal with it effectively.

  • Adam McLean - A Treatise on Angel Magic: Maghum Opus Hermetic Sourceworks

Downloaded: 13 times | Size: 112 pages | Add to wishlist | Download for @100 credits

From the world’s leading authority on alchemical texts comes a classic facsimile edition of a late 17th century collection of Western esoteric ideas on Angel Magic. This volume is an exact and complete transcription of the original rare manuscript Harley 6482, considered one of the most important occult manuscripts in the British Library. Harley 6482 is one of six volumes in a collection described as "The Treatises of Dr. Rudd." Rudd, a Hebrew scholar, seemed to have had available a broad spectrum of primary sources and a secret tradition about the Enochian Tables of John Dee. In his writing on Angels, Rudd exposes himself as a practicing magician as well as a scholar of esoteric material. He was deeply immersed in the dualistic picture of the spiritual world, which is of great importance in esotericism.

McLean has transcribed the text of Harley 6482 (on Angel Magic) in its entirety, modernizing the spelling in places but remaining as loyal as possible to the style of Dr. Rudd. McLean believes this Treatise was written by Rudd for use by a group of practicing occultists centered around him.

A Treatise on Angel Magic includes detailed sections on the Schemhamphoras, the 72 Angels that bear the name of God; the hierarchies of the fallen angels; rapturous Images of the Mansions of the Moon; evocation of the Natura Spirits; and John Dee’s Enochian system of Angel conjuration. It concludes with Dr. Rudd’s Treatise on the Nine Hierarchies of Angels and their conjuration to visible appearance.

A Treatise on Angel Magic is an outstandingly complex source work on Angel Magic, and a resource that brings together several seminal texts not available anywhere else. Essential for scholars and students of the occult, the book offers not merely one viewpoint on western esoterica but instead encompasses all of the important thinking on these topics present in Medieval and Renaissance times.
